Why Krav Maga is so freaking awesome!!

Although most people will probably have no clue what Krav Maga is let alone why it is so freaking awesome. I  have therefore taken the liberty to cancel my otherwise important plans (watch Netflix all day) in order to explain to you why you should pick up the phone and join your nearest KMG club.

So now the question remains, What is KMG?

Well Krav Maga is a  self defence system that is devised for the Israeli military and has proved to be a huge success in  different military/security divisions world-wide. The success of KMG is mainly contributed to it's simplicity as it is based upon your own natural reactions.

 Previous to KMG, I practiced a number of different martial arts these include and are not limited to Kung Fu, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jujitsu in addition to some other ones that I practiced briefly. The reason why I stayed in KMG throughout these years is simply because it has proved to work for me, I will now explain to you the main difference between KMG and the other martial arts that I have practiced in terms of real world practicality.

I started my martial arts experience in the one and only Kung Fu, after growing up watching a number of Bruce lee movies, it was only natural really.  I spent my time practicing some awesome kicks and although initially you think that this will probably be an absolute killer with the ladies but for some reason they just weren't really into  my whole Jackie Chan persona. I guess randomly performing a spinning back kick really isn't that sexy.

Kung Fu was no doubt the coolest martial art to practice simply because you had the most amazing kicks, forms/Katas in addition to using a number of traditional weapons. But unfortunately Kung Fu fell horribly short in terms of just your classical self-defence. My Kung-Fu master would make me practice the coolest hand forms however unfortunately tiger style was just not really that effective against a robber with a knife let alone 2 or 3 robbers. Now give them guns and my Kung Fu would fly right of the window like all the villains that Bruce Lee side-kicked out. I decided that maybe I should move on to more functional martial arts, so I started Muay Thai.

Muay Thai is the hardest form of martial arts out there (literally). A practitioner of this ancient martial art can sustain an incredible amount of pain and give an awful lot back. These guys will not only punch/kick you but they will also land devastating blows with their elbows and knees. They will beat you up so bad that you will suddenly start reminiscing about those high school wedgies, oh nostalgia. As complete as Muay Thai is, it does lack a practical self defence system. I can also imagine it would look quite bad on CCTV if the robber that attempted to steal your MacDonald's coupons would end up looking as if he was hit by a train because of your brutal low kicks.

Now unto another form of martial art and an incredible one at that. This one is dubbed as  the King of Cage, the one and only Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

BJJ is a ground based martial arts with roots in the deadly Japanese martial art Jiu Jitsu.  Thousands of practitioners have tapped out because of a foot lock, arm bar or triangle choke by a BJJ practitioner. Any successful UFC champion will tell you that a background in ground fighting is absolutely essential for success however is the octagon the same as your local pub?. A ground fighter can take any stand-up fighter out simply because any stand up fighter will be completely useless on the ground. Ground fighters therefore love to tackle other fighters down in order to easily force them into submission. Now take your local pub scenario, you are going out on a night out and a guy decided that it is in the  best of  his interest to punch you in the face because you just hooked up with the cute blonde that he has been eyeing up all night. You being a bad-ass ground fighter, tackle him down without any hesitation and go for that brutal triangle choke, you are then suddenly knocked out unconscious and wake up in the hospital the next day. You being so bad-ass happen to be absolutely shocked that you got defeated by some drunk hobo, that is until your friend tells you that whilst you were trying to get that triangle choke going , the other guy's best friend decided to simply you stomp you in the head, that is also when blondie decided to make a run for it. Ground fighting is suddenly not to so cool now is it?, well that is when KMG comes in.

"Train Krav Maga and maybe one day you will be join the cast of the Expendables ( Expendables 15 that is as Sylvester Stallone happens to be happily ageing backwards and still out-lifts me at 68 years of age)"

Krav Maga wastes no time on your funky Kung Fu forms  and has effective self defence maneuvers in addition to minimizing ground fighting ( this is to avoid those nasty head stomps ).

Krav Maga will teach you all you need, nothing more. These are all the basic punches,kicks, elbows, knees in order to turn you into an awesome brawler. KMG will then teach you all kinds of knife disarsms (ALL KINDS, seriously every knife you can think of, we probably have a disarm for it) in addition to long range weaponry disarms (pistols, AK-47s, M16s, sniper rifles, bazookas etc..).

Now to replay that pub scenario, a KMG practitioner would quickly disable the random drunk hobo that has been eyeing up his girl all night by striking at a number of weak points instantaneously and then quickly escaping from the fight scene. He would then end up going home with blondie( see Kate Upton ) instead of waking up the next morning looking like that burglar from before.

"Training KMG will grant you a better success rate going home with Kate Upton as being knocked unconscious will radically reduce your chances (Women love to talk on their dates and being an unconscious vegetable is just well unresponsive)"

I believe I have demonstrated the importance of training Krav Maga,  if you are still not convinced check out my video on the subject (see below) otherwise good luck getting with Kate Upton , note there are 3.5 billion men  world-wide also fiercely competing for her but hey now atleast you know Krav Maga.

Things people won't tell you about being an Engineering Student

Study engineering they said, be like Iron man they said.

Engineering, arguably one of the most amazing majors to decide to do during your college/University years. You will be complimented on a regular basis, your parents will be proud of you and  at some point you even may think that you are on your way to becoming all that you ever wanted and even building your own Iron Man suit but then you realize that your dreams have never been further from the truth. This post will talk about the horrors that every engineering student will experience during their time at University.

Plenty of hot girls at campus, they said.

This unfortunate truth will hit you on your first day of University, when you sit in a class of around 300 students and you can count 3 girls in your class, later you find out that 2 of them are already taken.

Engineering is probably the last major on earth for getting any action at all, not only will you not have time to even think about the opposite sex but you will find yourself in a sausage fest during your time as an engineering student and not the awesome October one that they have in Germany. 

The good news is that once your time is over as an engineering student you will find that almost any girl is ten times more attractive than before your time as a student, you will probably believe that you have somehow become more mature and truly believe that beauty is about what is underneath the flesh  but the sad truth is that your years as a student was as  dry as a north African desert and just any girl would do right now. 

Will your lower standards improve your chances with the ladies, I still doubt it as your years in engineering has  managed to send back your dating game back to the dark ages but hey you can always have fun with your calculator. 

Not what an engineering student does during a Friday night.

As your chances with the ladies are incredibly slim during your time at campus, you sudden have a burst of testosterone to try out other avenues like perhaps your local club then you realize that you have three assignments for Monday.  

Social life in engineering is an illusion, pretty much like democracy in the middle east. You will be so overworked during your time , you are a lucky man to have a day off during your week however I cannot say that for the poor students that have to work part-time jobs to pay the rent but yet still have live on ramen noodles. The good news however is that you will be spending so much time at campus with your study buddies that you will all understand each others pain and also reminisce on the good times when you actually have some for of social life. You will also invent  a number of engineering jokes that you will all have a laugh at, however you will soon realize that the general public will not react enthusiastically to your once awesome engineering humor.

Oh yes and your engineering game is absolutely lethal with the ladies, I mean it LETHAL.

An engineering degree is difficult and not for the right reasons. You will spend most of your time doing mindless calculus that has nothing to do with anything  and will have  little to no real world application.  Your professors will bombard you will theoretical assignments and exams whilst other majors will be partying throughout their years then you graduate realizing that they are a lot more suitable for their careers than you are for yours as your professor will manage to teach you every single engineering equation on the planet but you realize that real world engineers do not sit in their offices solving for X.  A mechanical engineering graduate will be able to easily explain to you how a car works theoretically but if your car ever breaks down please call a mechanic as most of us graduates will faint at a sight of a real engine.

An engineering graduate graduating on top of his class will probably know as little as the student that barely scraped for pass about real world applications of engineering. Does that indicate that you should simply do the absolute minimum for your degree and perhaps make some room for that amazing social life, well not if you want to get a job as most jobs will target graduates with top marks even though ironically  all major companies will still give you their own specific training as they know deep down that your degree is pretty much worthless for work.

This post may be slightly exaggerated but it is more or less the truth about your average engineering student, however the positive of all of this is that unlike most other majors you will have a better chance getting a job in your field after you graduate.

However please note that most companies are looking for and I quote "recently graduate engineers with 3 years of industrial experience", try solving for X now fellow engineer.

Mayweather Vs. Manny Pacquiao May 2nd Analysis

After all the hype that has been going on in the boxing world, I simply could not resist not to talk about this major boxing event.

Anyone with any knowledge about the sport of boxing should know about these two big names, only if perhaps they have been living in a cave for the last 20 years. Previous to examining the predicted outcome of this highly anticipated bout, one should initially analyse these two world class fighters individually.  Starting with the one and only Floyd "Money"Mayweather.

Coming out with an incredible unmatched record of 47 wins, 26 by knockout and an outstanding 0 loses throughout a career spanning over 20 years, Floyd has definitely earned his spot among the greats. Although Floyd may seem as a flawless fighter, there has been a lot of controversy surrounding his victories. Floyd has been accused of  hand picking opponents, cheating his way out of victories and simply boring out the crowd on many different occasions.

His style may not be the most exciting to watch however he has come out victorious over a number of great fighters including and not limited to De La Hoya, Cotto, Hatton and Mosley.

As one of the most technically gifted fighters of our era , the fight with Manny is no doubt to be an exciting one however the question that remains is who will come out on top.

Our next contestant is the people's champ Manny Pacquiao,  with a record of 57 wins, 38 of them by knockouts , 5 losses and 2 draws.

Coming on to the bout after a strong win against previously undefeated Chris Algieri in addition to a number of world class fighters that have joined the long list of fighters that have fallen on the hands of Pac-Man.

Manny is not simply just an amazing fighter but a lovely and multi-talented individual, whether it is the boxing ring, basket ball court or the parliament, Manny has the habit of always coming out on top. In the sport of boxing he is known for his incredibly quick hands, high knockout rate and amazing agility.

Although Manny has definitely shown that he is an incredibly talented brawler style fighter, he still lacks the technical finesse that a fighter such as Floyd has. Pac-man has also shown in past bouts that he struggles against more technical fighters, this is clearly shown with his loss against Marquez.

So what may go down on the second of may, is still up for grabs. This amazing fight could go either way. Will Mayweather manage to outbox Pacquiao or will Pac-man put  Floyd in trouble with his incredible hand speed and volume of punches, we will all have to just wait and find out.
